Episcopal church in the Champaign-Urbana area of Illinois

The Chapel of Saint John the Divine is a parish of the Episcopal Church, ministering to the community of Champaign-Urbana and the Episcopal campus ministry to the University of Illinois. As a constituent part of the Anglican Communion, we are also church home for international students and scholars.

We are a welcoming, lively, and diverse congregation offering mindful ways to worship, learn and serve. We invite you to join us as we seek to worship and follow Christ. ALL are ALWAYS INVITED and WELCOMED!

United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church that was started in 1889 for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO men, women and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. The offerings gathered through UTO support the mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church in the United States and in the developing world. Please pick up a blue UTO box from the narthex on Sunday to gather your loose change (or dollars!) over the coming weeks.

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with the Blessing of the Animals will be held on Sunday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel. We hope you will make plans to bring your pets and your entire family for this special annual event to celebrate God’s creation of the animals that share our homes, our lives, and our love. Please be sure that they are properly restrained with leashes or crates to prevent any accidents or escapes! If your pet is just too unwieldy, or if you are student and your pet lives far away, you are welcome to bring a photo of your pet.
