Alumni Reunion, 2008, in Celebration of the Chapel's Completion

The Alumni Reunion 2008 was held during the weekend of Friday, October 3rd through Sunday, October 5th. More than 100 of our alumni/ae returned for the weekend of worship, fun, feasting, and fellowship.

Former Choir members joined with our current Canterbury Choir and Choristers to provide splendid music for Saturday's Evensong and Sunday's Eucharist.

Friday evening, alumni and parishioners were treated to a fabulous pot-luck dinner at the Rectory. Saturday evening following Evensong a sumptuous banquet was held at the University YMCA. Sunday Eucharist at 10:00 was followed by "Solemn High Coffee Hour" hosted by our own Eileen Morris.

Many of our alumni have taken on leadershp positions in the Church, whether through Holy Orders or Lay Ministries. Many of our alumni have embarked upon careers and professions within the Episcopal Church, at national, diocesan and parish levels. Several of our Chapel Choir alumni minister as professional Church musicians. So many concentric circles were identified during this weekend, and the importance which the Ministry of this place has to the face of the Church was reaffirmed.

In 2010 the Episcopal Ministry at the University of Illinois will celebrate its Centennial! Watch this web-site for information as plans develop for another "blow-out" get-together for our alumni and friends!
